פורים בים המלח.... Purim at the Dead Sea

On Purim eve and the following day, the hotel area at the Dead Sea was bubbling with excitement.
On the eve of Purim, hundreds vacationers gathered for the central Purim party held in the Ganim Dead Sea hotel.
The evening began with word of blessing and explanations about the Mitzvah of Purim by the Chabad shaliach, Rabbi Shimon Elharar. This was followed by the reading of Megillat Esther by Reb Yehezkiel Sasonkin. After the reading of the Megillah, the public raised a glass and the dancing began. There was a competition for the best costume for which prizes were awarded.

The evening was advertised in the local Dead Sea settlements and in the hotels, at reception and notice boards. During Purim itself, the Shlaliah met with the Mayor and with municipal workers, hotel managers, local business men etc. Soldiers, law enforcement and emergency workers were also graced by joyful visits from the Chabad House team.

For the Jews there was light and joy, gladness and honor….
