  Channukah

A large crowd gathered for the central lighting of the second Chanukah candle for the Dead Sea which took place at the Ein Hatchelet open area. the evening began with words of blessing by the Dead Sea Coast Chabad House director Rabbi Shimon Elharar, after which the Chanukkiah was lit with an accompanying firework display. The crowd joined in with song and dance and was treated to donuts.
Every night the Channukiah was lit in the presence of many guests who joined in with the son and dance and were treated to donuts. the Chabad patrol car fitted with a Chanukkiah and loudspeakers on it’s roof drove around bringing festive joy to the local ambulance, fire and police stations and especially to the soldiers guarding the area, stationed at roadblocks and hotels. They lit Chanukkiahs and were given donuts. It should be noted that many tourists from all over the world talked about their Chabad connections and were glad, once again, to meet Chabad at the lowest place on earth
